Keywords are KING: How to write keyword rich copy
So you’re writing your blog or filling out your profile or doing a status update on LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter. It’s 2:00 PM…do you know where your keywords are?

It’s one thing to write compelling copy but it’s an entirely different thing to write copy that will get indexed and ranked highly for your important keywords. You do want to get found when your prospects are searching, don’t you? YES!!!

Let’s start with the basics. Do your keyword analysis right now. A great free tool that I use is WebCEO. Once you have your most important keywords you can start to review all of your copy while making sure to naturally integrate these keywords.

Remember that search engines concentrate on the first 250 words of text and your title. Strive for a 5-8% keyword density but your copy has to make sense and be relevant. You don’t want the search engine to think you are keyword spamming or loading. They will penalize you for this and you surely won’t be found on the first page which is always your main objective since over 80% of users view only the first page of results.

And don’t forget these other important keyword tips:

• Use your most important keywords/phrases in your H1 tag
• Make sure your images have your keywords in your ALT tags
• Consider registering a domain with your keywords in it
• Research your top 3 competitors to see what keywords they use
• LinkedIn, Facebook & Twitter are social search engines that can drive incredible amounts of traffic so optimize your profiles there

So when you are crafting your copy…even those brief tweets and status updates, be sure to include your important keywords so that you can rank higher in the search results.
